Greetings to all who want to learn how to mod THAW and/or any other game. I will most definately not be talking about GS codes (Modded Skins, Boards, etc.) Those questions and comments shall be kept to the appropriate forum. But, I will talk about how to get to the stage of entering those codes. I may possibly talk abot utilizing the full capabilities of a PS2 involving HardDrives, backing up games, and over-all turning your PS2 into a multi-media center (more than it already is). Alright, now to start off you need to figure out, how much do you want to mod. Modding can be very time consuming and frustrating the first few times you try it, and will take lots of patients. I will try to help and explain what is going on and how it works.
Once you've gotten over that..issue you can begin to assemble what you need in order to Mod games
Requirments:
- A copy of a game, perferably "Tony Hawk's American Wasteland"
- A Gameshark, AR Max, or Codebreaker. The gameshark is what we support on this site so far.
- PS2 (fat or Slim)
- Memory Card
- (optional) A USB Keyboard, plugs into the front of the PS2
First steps of Modding:
So probably it was very hard to obtain a gameshark, or other cheating device because they aren't being produced very quickly, if at all anymore. Well if you got the cheating device than congrats, lets get started.
Start up your PS2 with the gameshark in, along with memory card. Once the main menu comes up, choose "select cheats". Scroll to the name of the game, in this case Tony Hawk's American Waste Land. Select what cheats you want. OR you can create a cheat. So select the option to create a Code. Enter the code and instructions given in the GS forum. Once done hit "start". A message about Inserting your game now will appear, open the disk tray, than enter Tony Hawks American Waster Land. Hit "X" or "start". The game should load. When the game loads, set-up your hacked text or skins. Than save to your memory card.es
Okay thats the very basic's on how to mod your character, text, or board.
